SPOTLIGHT ON THE NETHERLANDS – MEET THE DUTCH Panel
CAAMA’s Spotlight this year was on the Netherlands. The ‘Spotlight on Holland’ MEET THE DUTCH panel, moderated by IMPALA President Kees van Weijen, provided market intelligence and overview of the State of the Dutch music industry. The panelists outlined various strategies and entry points to access the Dutch music market. The Dutch music industry is one of the top 10 music markets in the world. Over the last two years, music revenues achieved double-figure growth. A massive 80% of this can be attributed to streaming revenue. Spotify and YouTube are the most popular platforms for Dutch music fans. Dutch artists generate massive amounts of international revenues. Much of this can be attributed to the popularity of Dutch electronic music. The Netherlands has a record number of very professional and world-famous (open-air) festivals in all genres of pop music where quality of production and innovation are at the highest level.
